The Visual Arts Program at St. Peter’s is designed to help students at St. Peter’s develop creative thinking skills and become powerful problem solvers through fun hands-on projects and interactive learning presentations.
Artist of the Month is our favorite part of the curriculum. Each month, students explore the life and art of a famous artist. We critique examples of that artist’s work and imagine what the artist was trying to say through their art. We then create our own art inspired by that artist’s work or style.
Our art program is based on both National and Indiana State Visual Art standards. We provide students with a broad knowledge of all aspects of art along with many opportunities to create.
We LOVE art! We know that by encouraging students to explore, imagine, and create we are teaching them important skills they will use not only in art class, but in all aspects of life.
