Technology Instruction – Middle School

K to the 8th Power
Computer and Technology Instruction

In addition to having computers and SMART boards in every classroom, St. Peter’s also teaches “technology” to our students. Using our program K to the 8th Power, students make seamless transitions from grade to grade every year, adding knowledge and keeping up to date on computer technology.

Our computer curriculum in the middle school years is project-based utilizing classroom applications and the Technokids curriculum. These include learning Microsoft Office components such as Word, Excel, Publisher, and more. Technology is integrated into various subjects with individual activities and group projects. Students learn to design and introduce Power Point presentations. In 7th and 8th grade students can become involved in our weekly worship services through technical aspects of computer and audio-visual components. Our worship services are recorded and shown on cable TV, and students are a vital part of this process. Basic computer skills, programs and concepts are further developed.
